I actually have the bonsai tree (both the cherry blossom one and the other one are the same set). The instructions point out that that set has the most frogs of any other Lego set. And they’re used as flowers.

I also have this one, which is really neat.

The keys move the hammers and actually cause the drum to advance (though the mechanism for the latter is somewhat finicky).

The 18+ marker is an indicator that the set is either a display piece (and no fun for kids post assembly) or very complex (the most tricky Technic sets). So, for example, models of various Marvel and Star Wars masks are 18+, as are their various dioramas, their Pride set, their new Tales of the Space Age set, and basically any set that is designed to be set up and left alone. They have an entire subsection in their online store called Adults Welcome, which consists of the 18+ sets that aren’t really toys (listed under Interests).
